Question Should kids drink gatorade when they are sick (stomach flu)?
Answer Dawn,
Sorry for the delayed answer - I've been traveling.
Gatorade is not a great drink except on certain occasions. It is made to replace electrolytes that are lost during intense athletic competition. If the flu is accompanied by diarrhea then Gatorade can also be useful at replacing electrolytes lost because of that.
Many parents over-use Gatorade as a regular drink. It is very high in sugar and salt and should only be used as above.
