Kids` Internet Games - games for Macintosh computers

Expert: Candace Huber - 1/19/2005

Question
Hi,

thanks so much for volunteering.  I have  a Macintosh Powerbook G3.  I am looking for online games to play for my 8 yr old son., and for free.  A couple of years ago, after extensive searching, I finally found something good on MSN...but  it no longr works, it's not the same, and there are soo many obstacles...i.e. downloading, charges, passwords, and 'no good' games. And like with 'yahoo', it seems you must have a PC.  Any advice?  If not, or even if you may have a suggestion, I would also appreciae any information on Macintosh games that I  can get for my son through the computer, either purchase, or whatever.  I don't really understand how all of this works.  The games I am most interested in are those that also interest me.  I  like games, i.e. where you have to match blocks of 2 or 3's, and then they disappear...and  if you make it in time, you go to the next level, etc.  I realize I don't sound very intelligent, but I can learn. thanks, katrin

Answer
Hi Katrin,

I first want to apologize for this being so late.  I haven't been on the computer as much lately due to colds and blizzards.

I am not sure that I have enough knowledge on this subject for you as I have a PC not a Mac.  I have a huge list of gaming places that I believe you can go to on either Mac or PC but I'm not sure. There are lots of great kids games for both older and younger kids.  Most of them require the Flash Plug in which I believe you can download for Mac's too.

What I will do is send you the links and then you can let me know if you can play these or not.  If you can't I'll research another avenue for you.

To use the following game links, click the link or if it's not clickable copy and paste the link into your web browser.  Sometimes our email programs break up long links.  If this happens copy the first line and paste it into your web browser, then copy the second half and paste it with the first line in the web browser, then hit go or enter!

The Game Links are...

First, I am going to list a couple of kids color page and craft links.

http://www.onawhim.us/kidszone_nonflash.html (my old site) http://ivyjoy.com/coloring/coloringlinks.html (incredible listing of kids coloring page websites) http://www.coloring.ws/coloring.html
http://www.sitesforparents.com/index3.html (more links to great websites) http://www.kidsdomain.com/craft/ http://www.make-stuff.com/ (cool site) http://familyfun.go.com/crafts/ (one of my all time favorite websites :)

Next is a list of online game sites that I have found on the internet. Many of these sites have games for 3-5 year olds. You'll need to go through and see if they fit your needs. My kids favorites are first. They are ages 5 and 3.

More gaming places but we usually stick with the top list.
