Question This is a really stupid question--I hope you have an answer though. My brother and I are arguing on wether or not my son's 3 goals in one game is considered a hatrick or if it would have a different name if any. I told you it was stupid--sorry. Thank you though.
Answer There is no such thing as a stupid question, especially when settling an argument with a sibling.
As for your question, the answer is that you are absolutely correct. Many sports use the term hat trick to represent three scores, tally, goals, etc., and the term actually originated from the sport of Cricket. Most think this is only a hockey term , but it applys to many sports related trifecta's. Hope this answers your question and tell your son to keep up the good work.
