Question
In tightening the bolts under the miter and using a block to even them out -- we still have a little bit of difference.  They are perfectly flush in the very front and in the very back, but one side pops up just a tad in the middle.  Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Sandi,

Tightening the bolts is a two person job. One person underneath the miter and the other on top with a rubber mallet. Since the front and rear of the seam are smooth and level you may have a slight bow in one of the mitered pieces of top. I have had to tighten the front and rear of a seam and apply weight to the center to be able to get it to level out, how ever in most cases a slight tap with a rubber mallet will do the trick. Do not over tighten the bolts as you will damage the bolting location and you will not be able to get a good seam at all.

I have had to work one spot at a time until the seam would cooperate. making a good seam some time takes patience.

I wish you well,

Van
