Question
My stove sits on a wall by itself.  I have no cupboards above it or on the side of it.  I need to get my microwave off my counter and i wanted to install it above my stove.  How could i do this, using the brackets included in the microwave?  I am sure i need a shelf above to screw the microwave in - but please, give me some ideas.  Thank you

Answer
Hi Karen,

I have never put a microwave that sits on a counter top over a stove. It can be done I am sure in installing a shelf over the stove first then setting the oven on the shelf.

I do see a problem with this installation though, that being the grease from frying on the stove collecting on the bottom of the shelf and the microwave too.

You would do much better installing a microwave over your stove with a venting fan to get the smoke and grease out of your kitchen as you cook.
This would keep the room more sanitary and odor free. It will need to be vented to the out side to pull the odors and other things out of the house.

I would give this some thought.

I wish you well,

Van
