Subject: over-the-range microwave installed as build-in?

Question
Hi Van,

I wonder if it is possible to install a over-the-range convection microwave into a cabinet above a wall oven -- making it a build-in microwave?

Thanks very much in advance for your expertise.

Answer
Hi Weimin,

Any microwave that has an exhaust fan attached to it can not be used as a built in oven. That would defeat the purpose of that oven.

All microwaves need a certain amount of ventilation whether they are built in or not.

Check with the manufacturer for the best model for your purpose.

 Good Luck,

Van
