Question
Hi!  I currently have laminate countertops and the backsplash goes up the wall 18".  I am looking to replace these countertops with another laminate but it is I guess a "pre-formed" and the backsplash only goes up the wall 2".  What do you suggest?  Remove the old and how without damaging the drywall?

Answer
 Hi Nikki,

Any time you remove a full back splash from drywall you will pull some of the paper facing off of the drywall because the glue is stuck to it.

There are no chemicals available to help in this process that I know of.
If you work slowly your chances of complete damage will be less.

You will how ever need to do some repair to the drywall no matter how careful you are. That is one of the pitfalls of sticking laminates to drywall.

I wish you well,

Van
