Question I am just starting to knit a baby blanket. It is 161 stitches on circular needles. I keep starting over because when I try to go back and repair a stitch I keep dropping the stitch all the way to the cast on stitch. Can I pick up a cast on stitch in the middle of a row? I keep starting over and it will never get done at this rate? I appreciate your help!!!
Answer Dear Janet
Yes you can start picking up a stitch AT ANY TIME OF YOUR KNITTING. When you see a dropped stitch just stop your work and make sure that your stitches are not going to fall off while you do your little repair. Then pick up the stitch taking it to as far as you can go and then put a safety pin or some other device on it so that it will not run any further. When you come to that part of the knitting you can then pick up the stitch from the safety pin put it on the needle and carry on working.
I do hope that this helps you.
