Question
I have promised to make some checkerboard house slippers they are worked with 2 colors, I have looked on the net, the problem Im having is you cast on 66 stitches then all the stitches are knitted the first row I pick up color 1 knit 6 then drop knit 6 with color 2 the problem im having is when I go to row 2 the treads are showing the treads are supposed to create a soft padding great for slippers but those treads arent supposed to show on both side, what am i doing wrong. needless to say im not the greatest knitter

Answer
Are these worked in garter stitch or stockinette stitch?
When you work the wrong side, if purling ,just keep all strands on the purl side. I suspect you are working garter stitch and knitting on the wrong side as well? You will need to move your yarn to the back to knit the 6 stitches and then*bring it forward again, pick up the new color from underneath and move the new color to the back in order to knit the next 6 stitches. Then repeat from * across row.
