Inc 6 sts evenly across next and then EOR 1 time. [20 sts - Does it mean inc 6 sts in one row & every other row inc one st at a time.
Beg short rows as follows:
*K to last 2 sts, wrap next st and turn.
P to last 2 sts, wrap next st and turn.
K to last 3 sts, wrap next st and turn.
P to last 3 sts, wrap next st and turn.
Cont as est until 3 sts are wrapped at each end of row and 1 st at each end remains unworked. - What they mean by saying continue as est. Couldn't follow that line. Can you make it a bit clear please?
Work across 2 rows picking up wrapped sts at both sides of work and unworked sts.
Rep from * 16(18, 20) times while AT THE SAME TIME , M1 on each side of st marker every 4th row (counting rows up center of pouch) to 52[56, 60]sts. - And also what does this line mean?
Thanks
Saru
Answer Yes, increase 6 sts. within the next row. As the pattern reads you should then work one more row, then increase 6 sts. within the next row. To decipher what they mean, subtract the finishing number of sts. (20) minus 6, minus 6. Did you start with 8 sts.?
"Cont as est" means the next rows would be:
K to last 4 sts, wrap next st and turn
P to last 4 sts, wrap next st and turn
You are leaving one more stitch e.o.r. unworked before doing the wrap.
Not sure what the "3 sts are wrapped at each end of row" part means.
How many sts. are you starting with? Just doing 2 more rows in the est. pattern will give you 3 sts. wrapped at each end.So why didn't they just give you the two more lines of instruction?
What object are you knitting?
The pattern is referring to a marker that you had placed somewhere in the pattern. On either side of that marker you should do a M1 increase (that is, picking up the bar between two stitches with the left needle and knitting into the back of it). You do that every 4th row until you have the 52(56,60) sts. depending on what size you're doing.
You are also repeating from the * a certain amount of times, depending on which size you're making.
