Knitting - converting pattern loom sizes
Expert: Frances Rhea - 10/18/2009
Question I don't know if you know anything about loom knitting, but maybe you can point me in the right direction if you don't, because there seems to be no loom knitting category though there are a lot of old archived questions on loom knitting.
Now, how do I convert a loom knitting pattern using one size loom to the next size bigger loom?
I have a pattern for a beret made on the red Knifty Knitter loom, and I want to know how to convert it to make it on the next size bigger green Knifty Knitter loom.
Would I increase the number of rows in the body? How exactly does this work?
Answer I would make one sample with the smaller look and measure the dimensions. Then make one with the larger loom and measure it. That way you will know what measurements are required to complete each section of the hat. It will take less squares than the smaller loom to create the hat. It is impossible for me to determine how many it will take without making the hat myself.
Hope this helps.
