About Carol Forbes
Expertise
I can answer questions about machine knitting. I am familiar with most made-in-Japan machines, main beds and ribbers. I am most familiar with Studio and Brother. I am not familiar with Passap.

Experience
I was a Studio and a Brother dealer for ten years in Wisconsin. I still knit and design every day.

Education/Credentials

Knitting - Knitmaster F370/270 carriage jam

Expert: Carol Forbes - 6/2/2009

Question
both carriages will go over empty needles separately, but when the connector is in place the carriage jams. I think that the problem is with the main bed carriage, any answers please? This machine was working perfectly when last used!

Answer
The first thing I would double check is to see that the carriages are fully "seated".  The next thing I would check is the retainer bar (sponge bar).  The third thing I would check is that the ribber head (the silver arm)is properly mounted onto the main bed carriage.  Hope this will solve the problem.
