About Lesley Arnold-Hopkins
Expertise
I can answer questions on all types of knitting on needles (ie not loom knitting) including Fairisle, intarsia, lace and basic knitwear design. I can also answer on crochet, including tapestry crochet, but I do not have sufficient knowledge of toys or stuffed animals to call myself an expert.

Experience
I've been knitting and crocheting for over 35 years. In that time I have made a variety of items, incorporating a range of stitch techniques and have designed my own garments. I have had patterns published in the UK (crochet and knitting) and teach both crafts.

Education/Credentials
BA(Hons)Open (not related to knitting or crochet, but shows my highest level of education)

Question
QUESTION: what is work 11/4 in k1,p1 rib ending with a RS row

ANSWER: Hi Fathima

Thanks for your question.

Is it possible that the pattern is worked out in imperial measurements?

If so, then it could mean work 1 and 1.4 inches in K1, P1 rib. This is approximately 3cm.

I hope that this answers the question, but if anything is unclear, please come back to me.

Thanks again

Lesley

QUESTION: thanks madam but iam not clear in ending with a RS row

Answer
Many apologies Fathima, I had misunderstood the question.

RS stands for "Right Side". This simply means that you finish with a row that has the right side of the item facing you as you work. This would be more obvious when working, for example, in stocking (stockinette) stitch, as the right side row is the K row.

I hope that this helps, but please come back to me if I can be of any further assistance.

Many thanks

Lesley
