Knitting/wrap 1

Question
I am doing the ribbing around my cardigan [Sirdar pattern 9340] .It tells me to WRAP 1 ,can you tell me if  this makes a stitch, it does not  the way I am doing it.The collar insructions are very confusing.

Answer
Not sure. In American terms a wrap would mean you are doing short rows. You slip a stitch, bring yarn to opposite side, then slip the stitch back to left needle, turn work. It does not create an extra stitch.
If it is meant to be an increase then  a wrap in UK might mean a "yo", yarn over  , or bring yarn to front, or yarn forward.
Usually "wrap " instructions " will tell you more, like, "wrap next stitch".
