Im having trouble keeping track of which needle is which..
1,2,3,4 with sox. any tips?

I like to leave a long tail when casting on.  The tail will be between needles 1 and 4.  Another thing would be to place a plastic ring marker after the last stich on needle 4.  Of you could take a 6 inch piece of contrasting yarn and just lay it over the bar betwen the last stitch of needle 4 and the first stitch of needle one.  Just lay it over the bar after each round and you will have something that looks like a basting stitch and pulls out easily.

I can answer questions about machine knitting. I am familiar with most made-in-Japan machines, main beds and ribbers. I am most familiar with Studio and Brother. I am not familiar with Passap.

I was a Studio and a Brother dealer for ten years in Wisconsin. I still knit and design every day.
