Knitting/sizing

Question
I have a pattern that only goes to 18 months, I would like to make it a size 3 (36 months) can I just double the instructions for the 18 month size.
Thank you

Answer
I would look at the difference between the cast on stitches for the sizes you have and add up according to that.  For example,  If the cast on for a size 6 months was fifty, the cast on for a 12 month was 55 and the cast on foe 18 months was 60---I would think the cast on for 24 months would be 65 (add 5) and the cast on for a 3 year would 75 (add 10).
