Expert: Deborah - 10/31/2009

I've known this guy since last year, and we've been really close ever since. We're in the same class this year for pretty much everything except foreign language. We have a similar taste in music, and we share artists and good songs pretty much every day.
The thing is, I like him, but I'm not sure he does. He smiles, and is really nice to me, but he's like that with mostly every other girl there is. However, he waits for me after every class, and vice versa, and sits near me in most classes. We joke around a lot, and our mutual friends keep rolling their eyes when we get into heated debates about which Beatles song is better, as if they know something we don't. We eat lunch together a lot, and he lets me get away with things other girls can't, like stealing a cookie from his lunch, or, like the other day at our school's Halloween dance, taking off his makeup from his costume.
He also gets almost... jealous... (of me?) when I play Zap, a game where someone writes someone's name on the back of your hand, and a time on the other, and if you find out whose name is written on it, you have to ask that person out.
So yeah. I'd really like to be something more than just friends, but I don't know if he wants to. What do you think?

Dear Evvy,

Has he had a girlfriend yet?  He sounds like he absolutely likes you, but I cannot understand why he hasn't asked you out yet.  Do you have a mutual friend who could ask him how he feels about you, and who could tell him how you feel about him?
