It's wonderful to be loved and to love someone in return. I feel it's necesary for human growth, spiritually, emotionally, and in developing wisdom. Everyone can find love, or let it in, but, it's necessary to know what love is.
Leo Buscaglia said love is a learned ability, not merely a feeling. Erich Fromm said it is an art. And the great poet and artist, Kahlil Gibrain, said "our hearts cannot create love." Love descends into our spirits by a decree of God, not by human intention."
Love, as Gibran said in essence, not made by us. It happens BETWEEN us. Of course, it is, as Fromm said, a decision, too.
My beloved Amber calls me "Leo". and it makes me very happy, because she is calling to the lover in me, and she's a wonderful woman whose love-along with my love for her-makes me a better man.
Many people say love is indefinable, that it is something ethereal, simple, accidental, even foolish, or only an illusion, concocted by romantics to cover up a merely animalistic, chemical attraction that eventually dies. Could that be why where joy begins in infatuation, instead of a sustained love, failure, separation, breakups, and divorce often follow? Yes, that is precisely why; why many fail at love; because they do not know and thus appreciate what love really is. Many believe such nonsense as I mentioned above, and love then does not take up its rightful place in their lives.
True Love is definable.It can last forever. Though love can be described many ways--as a flower can--love, like a flower embodies certain criteria. It comes into being and flourishes under certain conditions which we must create and maintain.
Experience I have helped many people around the world and I love to do it, but I recommend these books, to help you help yourself: Being Happy, by Andrew Mathews, The Art of Loving, by Erich Fromm, Love, by Leo Buscaglia, True Love, and also Anger, both by Thich Nhat Hanh, The Beloved, and also The Prophet, by Khalil Gibran, and The Road Less Traveled, by M. Scott Peck. My relationship is intercultural. This adds other dimensions to the already complex scenario people are in, in a relationship. I can help you find peace, understand your emotions, improve your understanding of what is beneficial among them, and how to apply your appreciation of your emotions, and of love and better behavior, to a wholesome, loving relationship. I might help you meditate first; to create the atmosphere in yourself for communication with your TRUE SELF, and then your beloved, or the one you would like to have a relationship with. I might help you simply find out if in fact you love someone or not. I may help you see there are precepts to love, just as there are in religions, for conducting a moral and happy love-life.
