Subject: Symbol for Mom

Question
Hi,

My mother passed away two years ago and I have been wanting to get a tattoo as a rememberance. She was born in Seoul, and she was half korean. I wanted to know what the Korean symbol for Mom and Mother were and if there is a difference between the two. By the way I traveled to Seoul, Andong and Gyeongju this last summer, it is beautiful. Thank you.

Katy

Answer
HiKaty,

Mother in Korean stands for "¾î¸Ó´Ï" and Mom for "¾ö¸¶". Generally, ¾ö¸¶ is called by young children or teenages and ¾î¸Ó´Ï by adult. Howerver, for a woman even though she is mature, calls her mother mom(¾ö¸¶). For a man in Korean, he has also a tendency to call his mother mom when he grows to a adult. If the Korean words, ¾ö¸¶, ¾î¸Ó´Ï are broken on your Windows system. you can go to Microsoft home and then in the search box, fill in the blank as "Korean language pack", download and install the file. You can see the Koreans.
