AboutKornFan86 Expertise I've been a die-hard Korn fan since 1996 and have read/watched hundreds of interviews, so I can answer pretty much any Korn question you throw at me. My expertise is on Jonathan Davis and general Korn questions though, but I'll probably be able to answer questions regarding the other band members as well depending on what the question is asking.
Experience Like I said before, I've been a fan since 1996 and have read/watched hundreds of interviews, so I know pretty much everything Korn related. I also keep up with Korn news on a daily basis.
Question We are sorry, but matt covington wasn't able to answer your question:
I was wondering if Jon is spiritual.. does he believe in God? He seems to have
experienced alot of pain in his life and has the extreme talent..blessed gift to
be able to communicate this through his music. He also had a brush with death
that he mentioned at the Family Values tour I saw over the summer and thanked
everyone for their e-mails and prayers. I've always liked Korns music and his
style(so freakin' unique.. with his like alien creature jibberish.((don't
exactly know what to call it!)) I LOVE "Twist")..Since I saw them live I am
amazed at their performance.. Being an 80's child and seeing TONS of shows and
meeting some bands(hairspray).. their performance is still imprinted in my mind
and he as a person.. what I've read and seen is so incredibly intriguing.. The
show was phenominal.. Loved... Will never miss one as long as I'm around! So..
Does he believe in God and I heard rumor he is doing a solo tour with like Queen
of The Damned material etc.. Please r ......
Answer Jonathan believes in God, but he has said that he worships him in his own way. He has also stated numerous times before that what he does not believe in is organized religion.
The rumor of him going out on a solo tour is true. According to him, he plans to hit the road with the backing band around February 2007. It's not 100% certain yet whether he's going to be playing QOTD songs or not, since he's still trying to work that out. What he does have planned to play so far are some acoustic korn songs, covers, and songs from movie soundtracks that korn has appeared on before.
PS: That "alien creature jibberish" thing he does is called scat. ;-)
Follow-Up: Just thought I'd give you a follow up about Jonathan's solo tour. Like two weeks ago he said that he won't be touring in February, but will instead wait until they finish their new album to tour. Korn's new album is supposed to be out around the summer, so I'd guess if he does end up doing it it'll be around April or May.
Additional Follow-Up: Thought I'd give you another follow-up, so you don't get your hopes up. There was an interview that came out today in which Jonathan said that he won't be doing his solo tour for the time being. Here's the direct quote from the interview.
And while Davis has already put together a band for a solo tour he wanted to do before the Unplugged opportunity came along, he's pushing that back for the time being.
Jonathan: "I always have those wheels turning in the back of my head of what kind of solo thing I would like to do," he said. "I really want to do some of those Queen of the Damned songs and covers and some KoRn songs that we don't play live. And I have songs upon songs that I've done on my own that are way different, and maybe one day they will see the light of day. But right now, KoRn is what I love and I don't want to do anything that might distract from that."
So that means that it's most likely not gonna happen this year, but it's still a possibility as a future project of his.
