Question I'm pregnant but possibly experienced a miscarriage. My first blood test was done today. Friday I get the second bit of blood drawn to see whether my hCG levels are still increasing or not. Do you know on average how long after I get my blood drawn on Friday I will have to wait to find out the news?
Answer Hi Taylor. After your blood is drawn, if the test was ordered as "routine", it's hard to say when the test result will be available. Your best bet would be to call your doctor's office, and they can get the results for you sooner, the lab can fax them to the doctor as soon as they are done. But, on average, from the time the lab receives the specimen, until the time the hCG test is done, is about 30-45 minutes. Hope this helps!
Samantha
