Question I have had high white blood cell count for 8 months now and myu iron was 8 then i got it up to 18 now its back to 14 my white blood cells have been ranging fromm 15.6 to 13.6 never lower and my sed rate is 81 help i dont understand.can u help please
Answer Hi Michaela, I'd be happy to try and answer your question. A high white count typically means that the bosy is fighting off an infection. And with your sed rate of 81 (normal is less than 20), this means that there is inflammation in your body somewhere. It is imperative that you get further testing from your doctor to determine what kind of infection you have, so it can be properly treated. Your doctor should take into account your symptoms which should help determine which steps to take next. Your low iron may not have anything to with this infection, you just may be anemic also. Check with your doctor!
