Question Should I be concerned about any of these numbers? OSMOLALITY (CALC) 272, CHOLESTEROL 209, ALT/SGPT 29, HEMOGLOBIN 11.3, HEMATOCRIT 34.4, MCH 26.7, RDW 15.9, MONOCYTES 10.20. All were indicated either high or low on my lab results. I had to call the doctors office 3 times just to get my results and they said since I didn't hear from the doctor not to worry about anything. Any input? Thanks!!!!
Answer Diana,
I don't think it would hurt to call and ask if there is anything your doctor thinks you can do to improve your hemoglobin and hematocrit in the future. It isn't urgent, but I'd call and just ask. You didn't mention if he tested your iron level or not. I assume he probably did and it was normal. If he didn't, it could possibly be a little low too and you might need an iron supplement. Your cholesterol is a little high. You could probably improve that with diet and exercise. Other than that, I think everything is fine.
