Lab Tests - blood test results

Expert: Samantha, MLT (ASCP) - 6/26/2009

Question
My WBC count is 14.5,HGB 15.3,HCT 45.1,ABS.SEGS 10.15 and I have  squamous epithelial cell count in urinalysis with blood trace, high PH UA; should I beconcerned about these results? My WBC has been high for awhile and I have severe edema in lower extremities.

Answer
Hi Cheryl.  Yes, your white blood cell (WBC) count is a little high.  But not terribly high.  All other results you listed are normal, and of little clinical significance.  Your doctor may want to do further testing to determine why your WBC count is high, especially if you're having symptoms.
