Lab Tests/Magneisum RBC

Question
For the last few years, I've been suffering from symptoms of magnesium deficiency.

I requested a magnesium RBC test and currently my levels are at 4.4 mg/dL. The reference range is 4.2-6.8.

I've been taking magnesium supplements for 4 months, so my magnesium levels must have been well below 4.2, which would indiciate a magnesium deficiency.

Can you provide any insight into my results?

Answer
Without seeing past test results re: your magnesium levels, there is really not much to say.  Were you diagnosed with magnesium deficiency by a physician who ordered magnesium levels on you?  Nobody can deduce that your levels must have been well below the lower-limits of normal just because you have been taking supplements and presently have levels within normal range.  Do you have previous test results that were abnormal?  If so, how long has it been since your abnormal result and the present result?
