Question
i am thinking about getting a traditional mesh for a lacrosse stick however i usually play on a wet field.
Does a normal stick or traditional mesh stick get more damage from water?
Also as an attackmen it is vital that i learn how to shoot while move is there any tips you can give me??

Thanks alot for your time

Answer
    James,
Traditional hard mesh does hold up in bad weather but I would go with a new type of mesh that is catching on across the country. This new type of mesh is called composite mesh. It's characteristics are very similar to those of regular hard mesh but since it is made up of a new type of composite yarn, its pocket does not change when water is absorbed into the mesh. There a lot a of different types of composite mesh but I personally would go with the G11 10 diamond composite mesh uncoated. This mesh is very similar to that of broken-in hard mesh but it is great for bad weather and wet fields, which you say you play in a lot.

With that being said, let me tell you where to get your head strung with this mesh. ZB Lacrosse Company strings great pocket for a very affordable price and they carry all types of composite mesh. Visit their website at www.zblax.com and click on stringing styles to see all the available pocket styles and color schemes. As you can see from the homepage on the website, they are closing for a month on the 25th of June so you may want to email them at zblaxcompany@gmail.com before placing your order. They string great pockets, having amazing turnaround time, and their customer service is unmatched. My friends and I all get our sticks strung from them.

As an attackman, shooting on the run is a vital part of the game.      Any time your on a goal practicing your shot spend 85% of the time running full speed and shooting.  Don't worry if you miss the goal badly the first few hundred times. Your power will come from a big hip and shoulder turn while cradling your stick behind your body.  Just as your ready to release your shot uncork your body (like a golfer) in the direction of the target. Again, this is a tough skill even for top players.  It is going to take a considerable amount of practice to master.  Watch some high level lacrosse to see it in action and try to emulate their movements. Practice is key.

Hope this helps. Sorry I took a couple days to respond. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions and remember to check out www.zblax.com for all your custom stringing needs.

Thanks,
Zander
