Subject: Wall Ball
Question My coaches have been telling me that I need to start throwing against a wall to
increase my ball handling, but the nearest brick wall to my house isn't within
walking distance. I have a lacrosse backboard but the ball bounces back at a
slow arch so I don't really challenge myself when I use it. Are there any other
backboards that I can get good practice with similar to using a brick wall?
Answer Amanda,
Your coaches are right, Wall Ball is a great way to improve your skills. They sell several Lax Walls that you can adjust the angle, so that you can get the right throw back angle and speed you are looking for. In The Crease (Brine) and STX both make one. If the one you have doesn't adjust, you can always prop the back of it up with something to get your desired angle. I hope this helps you. Good luck.
Thanks,
Joe
