Lacrosse - DEF. LAX SHAFT LENGTH

Expert: Zander Berlinski - 5/29/2009

Question
Is there a min. length for a defense shaft? My son is 10yrs old, next yr he will start to the D stick. So i would like him to get use to it now, but this stick is toooooo long. please give me some advise.
thanks

Answer
   Todd,
At his age there might not be a shaft length rule but NCAA and High School Rules specify that a defenseman's stick must be 52 to 72 inches long including the head. This will probably allow you to cut the stick down without making it illegal.

Let me know if you have any further questions. Hope this helps. Also, be sure to checkout www.zblax.com for all your lacrosse needs.

Thanks,
Zander
