Can you tell me where there are good fle markets in PA near Lancaster
Answer -
Hi, Anne. Nice to hear from you.
From Reading, take 222 South to the Denver/Turnpike exit. At the bottom of the ramp, turn right, away from the turnpike (west). This will take you to Route 272/Oregon Pike. Turn right (north) onto 272, and you will find flea markets on both sides. Some of the better ones include Shupp's Grove and Stoudts/Black Angus, but there are many other good choices. Note: They are open only on Sundays.
Enjoy!
Scott
Hi Scott,
Thank You for your help. Now how about Lancaster PA?
Thank You

Answer Hi, Anne!
Are you asking about flea markets in Lancaster county or specifically in Lancaster city? There really aren't any in the city itself, ... none that I'm aware of. But I can give you a couple more suggestions for flea markets just a few miles north of town.
One is The Green Dragon at 955 N. State Street in Ephrata. It's open only on Fridays, and is a combination flea market and farmers market. From Rte 222 (which runs between Lancaster and Reading), take Rte 322 West into Ephrata. Go about 1.5 miles and turn right onto State Street. Go about another 1.5 miles, and Green Dragon will be on your right.
There's also Root's Country Market, which is very similar to Green Dragon. It's open only on Tuesdays, and is located at 705 Graystone Road in Manheim. From Lancaster, take Rte 72 north to the small town of East Petersburg. From the center of town (Rte 72 & 722--Main Street & State Street), go about another 2 miles farther north on Rte 72. Take a hard left onto Graystone Road. About a quarter mile back is Root's Country Market.
If it's antiques you're looking for, Adamstown is the place. (We discussed this in the last message.) If you're interested in livestock, fresh produce, excellent food (like you'd find at the fair), and endless stands where you can buy anything from t-shirts to Beanie Babies, watches to tools, gadgets to hand-made crafts--then Green Dragon and Roots is where you want to go. Whichever you choose, I guarantee you will enjoy it!
