Subject: ABS light/reset
Question I recently had the master cylinder replaced on my 1999 Landrover Discovery. My mechanic is having a problem resetting the ABS light, as he does not have the tool to do this. Is the tool expensive? Are there any other ways to reset this system.
Answer A master cylinder failure would not trigger the ABS light. You need to go to someone with the proper tools to have the fault codes for the ABS light read. This is the same tool you use to turn the ABS light off. The tool is very expensive and there is no other way to turn off the ABS light. Try an independent Land Rover repair shop.
