Question Key won't go into lock completly, remote entry won't work, red light is flashing inside on dash. Back passenger door is jammed with seatbelt. May have went into superlock mode. Is there any way to get in without bringing Dealer? Thank you.
Answer Hi Carlos,
this is a tricky question for lots of reasons...
I'd be concerned about the key not going into the door lock completely. You could try a lock cleaner and spray it clean or lubricate it. If something is lodged in the keyhole, consider AAA or a locksmith - both will go on-location and help you on the spot.
Since you state that one door is jammed with a seatbelt, its quite possible that the superlock mode was not activated as all doors have to be completely closed.
Have you tried your key in the tail door? Again, use some lock lube so the key will insert easier. That tail door keyhole is usually full of fine grit and it could be difficult without some cleaning.
You can also try replacing the battery on your keyfob.
Lastly, if you are having difficulty with the door locks on a frequent basis, it could be that the IDM is faulty. Water has been known to leak in from the windshield and corrode the fuse box and the IDM connection. If this is the case, you will have replace the fusebox...a common problem to almost all LR's.
