Question
I have a 2000 DII.  The passenger seat will not heat up.  Is it a matter of changing out the heating element on the consel panel?

Answer
Hi Rosie,

first, you have to determine where the problem is seated ... ouch. Is it a fuse problem, a switch problem, element failure?

Element failures are common and, if that is the case, you'd have to replace the element under the seat.  Apparently, the heating element can short out and the only fix is to replace it.

Here is the definitive guide to heated seat problems:

Don't worry, Rangie or Disco...they're the same when it comes to heating the... seat. :)

And here's an excellent article on the seat element repair:

Best of luck,

Owner of a Discovery. I've had many mishaps with our Disco but I still like this vehicle. Talk to a fellow LR owner instead of a dealership rep. I'm not in this for the money. I'm just an owner who wants to help others.
