Experience Owner of a Discovery. I've had many mishaps with our Disco but I still like this vehicle. Talk to a fellow LR owner instead of a dealership rep. I'm not in this for the money. I'm just an owner who wants to help others.
Question 1998 discovery tdi back window wiper not working all the time only after driving for a short distance it starts to work.back windows intermittently working doesn't appear to be switches, some times they work when ignition is first turned on other times not ,sometimes after driving for a while, sometimes after using front windows
Answer Hi Mark,
all are common problems with LR's. Rear wiper motor may be at fault and the best way to resolve this is to remove and bench test it. If you apply 12v and it works, you've got a wire or electrical harness problem.
As for windows, problems can be with the BCU, window control unit, window motors, electrical connections or harness. Again, you'll have to remove the motor and test to see if it works 'outside' the system. If you suspect the switch, swap out and replace with one that works to verify.
