Question I need to replace the engine in my 2002 disco II SD (#5 sleeve/piston) It has the underpowered short block 4.0. What engine options do I have ? Can I replace it with the 4.6 or ?
Answer Hi Brian,
I would suggest you go for the 4.6.
Most owners who've done this are satisfied with the effort and cost. More power, fuel economy is about the same, no reprogramming of ECU from what I have been told. Should be simple enough, as you are going from one Bosch engine to another.
