P.S.  Send me an e-mail address and I will send you the guideline page I give fifth graders for organizing essays.

I understand your frustration.
This is the age group I work with right now.

There are several good website for INFORMATION...but few really that give...say lessons or exercises...there are some, but you need to look around and I don't know them right off hand.

I can tell you where I find free or almost cheap help.  The following people will usually give you volunteer assistance or help for a donation, or your own volunteer service, or the purchase of nuts and cookies or even free.

The boy scouts and girls scouts and blue birds or whatever boys and girls social and community clubs you have in your area.  Many of them get credits for this type of service.  Churches also have youth groups dedicated to community service that may help.

Your local high schools honor society students.  Many of these groups are required to do a set amount of community service required hours and would be good tutors.

Your local university or community college, especially if they have degrees or certificate programs in teaching, psychology, or child development/child care.  Again with the requirement for community service...plus...if you can find the official club called Future Educators of America...they are a group of teachers in training and also require their students to have community service hours.

Another place to find people required to do community service is in the military.  If you live close to a base of active sailors or soldiers, guards or reservists or even a recruiter...you may find willing help there.

Does your community have a YMCA...they often have tutor services.

Lastly, tutoring companies, especially big ones like Sylvan's...sometimes have "scholarship" for people with limited financial resources...it never hurts to ask.

Best luck and good learning.
