AboutRosemary Lenc Expertise I am a retired Middle School teacher. I am an expert in grammar (structure of the English
language) and writing. I have been a volunteer with AOL Ask A Teacher and have
submitted many articles and special collections (one on diagramming sentences and one
with worksheets and answers so students can check their own practice on grammar skills)
to their knowledge database. I still am with them but would like other work where I can
help students with their English study. I have time to help you with this, if you want me. I
can help with grade school, middle school and high school grammar & writing and can
also look up information on literature (reading) for students and help them with it.
Please let me know if I can be of help in these areas. Thank you.

Please give Paul and I your undivided attention. or
Send the package to tangy and him.
I confused myself, I took the proper noun out and see if it makes sense. For ex. Please give I your undivided attention. That doesn't make sense to me. I would say that Send the package to Tanya and him is correct
Answer Dear Tyra,
You are very correct in your reasoning. Congratulations!
Remember that these pronouns are used as subjects or predicate
pronouns in a sentence (follow a "linking verb".)
I, you, he,she, it, we, they
These pronouns are used as objects in a sentence, that is, as direct objects, indirect objects or objects of a preposition.
me, you, him, her, it, us, them.
When one has a compound direct object as you do in that first sentence, taking out one of them, even if one is another pronoun, will help you determine if it is correct or not. NEVER go by what sounds right as we sometimes do speak incorrectly, as we sometimes say: It was me...and that is incorrect. It should be, "It is I".
So learn the use of the pronouns as I have above and you will find it easier...as long as you know when a word is a subject, predicate "noun or pronoun", direct object, indirect object, or object of preposition.
