Laptop Problems - Laptop Sound Issues

Expert: Shot - 2/18/2008

Question
For two weeks now my laptop has been very slow. I figured because I have a lot of software but it should cover because it's supposed to have plenty of space. I have noticed that when I put music on the media player it sounds funky, like in slow motion or broken. I tried putting a new cd and it doesn't work either. The computer sounds are weird too. I don't know if its the sound card or what. I uninstalled software I wasn't using and did a difragmentation, disk clean up and it is still very slow and making funny sound when it plays any kind in general. IS someone familiar with this? What do you recommend?

Answer
Hello Viviana, since you've already ran the defrag, I'm assuming you should have at least 15% of your hard drive free. Do you know how much free space you have? You also might want to try temporarily disabling your antivirus software to see if that's causing the slow down. Does it do this when running on battery, plugged in or both?

Let me know!
