Question
hi ,am having a dell latitude c640 laptop and while trying to update the driver of my samsung cd-rw/dvd module with a software from dell webpage ,something went wrong and i used a flash software.now my pc does not detect my cd drive at all .please help me .do we have a software to detect cd drive before flashing them again or is there a way to revert the harmful changes.

Answer
Hi Kunal, there are many things that could cause this. Do the drives show up in Device Manager at all?

Have you tried doing a system restore to a date prior to the update? To do that, go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore. It will walk you through how to to complete it.

You may also want to remove your IDE/ATAPI controller and let Windows reinstall it. Maybe it would see the drive then.
