Laptop Problems - Long time to restart

Question
Hello,
Starting last weekend, my inspiring 1000 running XP, starting to take a longer time to reboot. I tried the date recovery tool, going back 3 weeks but it didn't solve it.
What could be the problem?
How can I fix it?

Answer
Hi Weyne, this could be many, many things, from OS to virus, even hardware, but I would think that would be the last option.

The first thing I would ask is have you installed any new software lately that might be causing this? Another question is does it take a long tim on the way down, on the way up, or both?

One quick thing that may improve performance is to make sure you have free space on the C drive and run the disk defragmento.

A quick way to figure out what is causing it to start slow is to run msconfig (Start>Run type in msconfig) and disable some of the things that load on startup by unchecking the boxes next to their names. You can put them back by simply checking the box again.

Let me know how it goes.
