Question QUESTION: I'm a full time student and i was wondering what kind of laptop I should get? It would have to hold a lot of paper work and some music. It would also have to be very portable. I was originally going to buy a mac but someone told me they were extreamly sensitive and not very durable. What about a sony or any other kind of laptop. I would need it to last for about four years at least. What do you think would be best for my kind of situation?
ANSWER: Go with Dell. I have been beyond pleased with all my experiences with them and they are the number one recommended laptop by colleges and universities. They offer a 4 year warranty with on-site repair service so you can get it fixed (if it breaks) in your house, dorm, apt, etc so you never lose your laptop. They also offer accidental damage protection so that you are still covered if you drop it or spill something on it! This way, you are guaranteed your laptop will still be working for you 4 years down the road, no matter what happens to it! Plus, Dell offers nice discounts to college students.

QUESTION: I'm willing to pay around 1200 dollars. I was thinking about getting a mac book because my school has all mac computers. What do you think of those or even the hp computers?
Answer I've never been a Mac fan myself. I can't figure out what the benefit is and why they cost so much more. If you are doing something like architecture, graphic design, or music creation they are great. That is what Macs are made for. If you are going for anything else, they are more of a plus than a minus.
HP computers are pretty good. A few downfalls are that they don't have the on-site warranty repair service like Dell does, their tech support is the lowest ranked, and they tend to be a bit behind in staying up to date with technology. They are still probably the second best way to go behind Dell though.
