Question
Hi!
I'm fresh out of high school and moving on to college! I don't know anything about computers and i need a laptop that's going to work for me. I need to be able to do all my school work and i would like to be able to play games and music from it as well. My dad doesn't want me to buy a mac though. Sorry that i can't be more descriptive in what I want... Any suggestions?
Thanks a million
Cait

Answer
Hi Caitlyn;

Happy to here that you are going to enter college, so wish you Luck in your educational life.

By the way, you didn't tell me the most important fact: The PRICE!!!
I will suggest some models with various prices and if you tell me the price, I will offer more models.

You told that you do not know much about Computers, so let me classify Portable Computers for you:

1.Laptop Computers: A kind of portable computer which has powerful processor and Graphics card and usually with large displays(larger than 14.1").They are good for playing games and doing Performance work. As the name says, it is a little heavy that you have to put it on your lap! I think this is the best choice for your case.

2.Notebook Computers: Another kind of portable computer that is usually very light with small displays and good for business work and travel.

3.Tablet PCs: This kind have a touch sensitive display which you can use a stylus or simply your finger instead of the mouse to work with the operating system. This model is classified into many other classes that I think discussing it would be boring for you.
