Question
Mohammad, I dont think I was explaining my question correctly as I will tell you exactly what I am asking about.  I have two home computers conected on a DSL line together on a network.  I play an online Poker game called Pokerstars which I play for play money.  The problem is that they only allow you to sign in with one username, so the other person in my family cannot play at the same time from the other computer.  Now I would like to buy a Laptop computer so that I can connect with a different IP address.  If if connect thru my present DSL this will be coming from the same IP address I guess.  This Pokestars has some software that  can tell it is the same address.  How can I connect my Laptop at home so that I am coming from a different IP address?  Is this possible?  I know about the Wi_fi, but will this connect in my home?  Thank YOu, Bill

Answer
Hi again Bill;

Every computer connected to a network, has a different IP address, but your DSL Router uses one IP address for connecting to the internet. I think the game you mentioned will recognize the IP that the router uses for connecting to the web not the IP which each computer uses in the network. If this is true, the laptop will have this problem two and you have to use another line if you want a different DSL IP address.

You can use wi-fi in your home, but it does not differ in the IP, just the connection method will be changed.

You'd better ask one of the experts in networking for solving this problem.

Wish You The Bests

Mohammad
