Question
Need help buying a Laptop.
My use would be Internet,online banking ( Microsoft Money ) & i want to Network it to my Pc.
So i can access files for the Programs i want to install on the Laptop.
I really liked the NEW Dell Mini 9
But it does not have a Optical drive & it only has 16mg HD
Which means i would have to buy a external optical drive.
What do you think about this new Dell?
Also what do you think about a AMD Semperon processor wich dell has for $499.00
My other choice is the quality & relability of Acer Laptops.
To get a DEll it would cost at least $500.00
I saw a Acer for $379.00 with the specs i would need.
Are Intel Celeron any good & whats the difference between Celeron & Pentium ?
What about AMD, How do they compare to Intel ?

Hi Desgnr;
First of all, lets talk about the Dell Inspiron Mini 9. This model is not a laptop, but it is a netbook. A netbook is a portable computer, which is usually build to use cloud computing.In "cloud computing", the specs for the user's computer is not important, it just acts as a communication bridge between the user and the server.All the tasks, calculations and storage will be done by the server.The Inspiron mini is also build for this purpose.It does not have a hard drive. It uses a 16GB Solid State Drive which means it is resistive to shocks and very fast.
If you want to use Inspiron mini as your primary computer, I do not suggest it, but if you want to have your data on the go in a nice looking and ultra-portable computer, it would work for you.
AMD sempron has not done well on Laptops, so I do not suggest it.
If you want a durable and powerful laptop, do not go for Acer, but if you are searching for a cheap one, it can be one of the choices.
If you do not tend to buy another laptop in the next 3 years, I suggest Dell Vostro & Inspiron series.
I do not suggest AMD while Intel Dual Core CPUs are available in this low price.
