Question
Hello, I am in the market for a new computer but am lost as to which one is best. I have a faily flexible budget, the max I would spend would be $3000. I want a very reliable and functional laptop. I need something mainly for internet use, class work (writing papers, preparing presentations), music storage (ITunes), and minor work from home. The work I would be doing is rather minimal, would only require a small program but I still need the computer to be able to handle the extra program without slowing it down. I want something that is very fast, I use wireless internet so it must come with a wireless card. Also, I need something that is very well built. I have purchased many laptops from brands such as Gateway, Compaq and Acer and all of them expect for the Acer laptop have had something go wrong with the laptop and the way it was built. For example, the battlery connection on my Gateway came loose from the inside when my laptop was only 1 year old. My Compaq did well for about 2 years and then the screen broke, as in it lost the picture and the screen would not display anything.

Basically, I need a very well built basic computer that can handle minor work programs, music, internet, and class work. I also have heard alot that Apple laptops last a long time, is this true? I have been considering an Apple but I have never had one and know little about them. I need something that will last without something falling off or breaking or stop working due to poor quality production of the product. Because I have a fairly large budget I want to make sure I buy something that will last at least a few years and something with high quality feature, like LED screen and a illuminated keyboard, I want to know it is a good quality computer by just looking at it. Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Rachel;

I am so sorry for my long delay.

About the Apples, it takes some time for you to get use to it. With this budget, I suggest a Macbook Pro. Apple laptops are durable and I think a Macbook would be a good choice in your case.

If you don't like Macbook, tell me to suggest from other brands.
