About Lauren Bennett Expertise I am a computer science major and my dad is an Electric Engineering, so my life has revolved around computers. For as long as I can remember, I have been buying and selling computers. I tend to travel a lot, so I have always had a laptop. I have bought 5 of them for myself, and bought around 30-40 for friends and family. I have dealt with the good and the bad of various version and brand names. If you are in need of buying a laptop, feel free to contact me and I'm sure I will be able to guide you into purchasing the laptop that will be the best fit for you. I will custom build you computers for you to choose from so you can get an exact idea of what to go and buy when you do it yourself and so that you have an exact price. However, I am in the USA and am only knowledgeable about computers here in the US. I do not know about foreign currency or the quality of computer brand names outside the US.

Question QUESTION: I need to buy a laptop for college but I want a good one. I like those convertible tablet ones, but I also like to play games like Battlefield and what not every once in a while. I'm not a huge gamer or anything, but I do play those a good amount. I don't want a big gamer laptop and I just don't know what kind I should get. Can I get good graphics and be able to game good on a tablet pc? Thanks.
ANSWER: There are only two tablet pc's that are made my brand names that i would recommend to someone. they are both made by HP and one is for the home/home office user and one is for the small business user.
i wanted one for a long time, but determined that it wasn't worth the extra $$ and the lacking of features..
Just keep in mind that it only comes with an integrated graphics card, which is not replaceable. The graphics card does not have any memory itself, but will borrow some from the rest of your computer when you are playing games. I would highly recommend getting 2 GB of RAM on this computer to compensate.
The small business version of this computer is a lot more expensive and comes with the same integrated graphics card.
I'm afraid that if you want to get a high quality Tablet PC, you'll have to sacrifice gaming capability.
Other brand names do make Tablet PC's, but because they are not known for producing quality laptops, I do not recommend them for people to buy.
If you have any questions about the Tablet PC I gave you, feel free to write me back. If you decide you do not need the Tablet PC option, I have others for you to look at.

QUESTION: I do still like the tablet PC's a lot, but is it really a good investment for me as a college student? I mean I am willing to pay the price for one, but is it just gonna break on me or what?
I heard that Dell and Gateway are the best brands for like service and what not, so how is the Gateway tablet PC? And also, do you have any information on the Dell tablet that is suppose to be coming out? Thanks again.
Answer I've tried harassing Dell about it and they won't give up any information. In my experiences, HP is the second best and Sony is third, but Sony is very overpriced.
For a college kid, I would recommend Dell. They offer an incredible warranty that is perfect. You get on-site service, so you never have to ship off your computer and be without it. You get accidental damage coverage so if you drop it or spill something on it, you are still covered. You get anti-virus software. You get 24/7 tech support. You get theft recovery.
I think the Dell E1505 is the perfect laptop for a college student - and it is also the highest ranked laptop by customers. It is big enough to use as your every day computer, but small enough to take to class.
What benefit were you hoping to get out of the Tablet PC? You can write your notes on the computer, but why not just a regular notebook? I type my notes on my computer and draw figures in a notebook if needed.
If you really really want a Tablet PC, here is the Gateway ones
