Question hi there my laptops screen is nice and bright (how it should be) when the chargers on, but when i take the charger off the screen goes dim and dark. i have looked in control panel on my laptop and everywhere else but i cant find something that allows me to change the brightness.
Answer It is set up that way to preserve battery power. You can change it for your current session by holding down the Fn key and pressing the up arrow. If you'd like to change the setting so it is that way every time, you'll need to do it through Quickset. Sometimes it is in the list of icons next to your clock. The icon reminds me of of a heart, but it is blue-ish in color. If you cannot find it, just run a search for it. There you can change settings, such as screen brightness when on AC and battery power, how long until the screen turns off, how long until it goes into sleep mode, what happens when you shut the top, etc.
