Las Vegas/Best dance club for a girl turning 40

Question
Hi Simon,

I would love to know your recommendation for a DJ dance club that plays hip hop and current hit dance music. I'm celebrating my 40th birthday with my husband and 3 other couples and don't want a club with a bunch of 20 year olds. Is there any where you don't have to pay a cover, drinks are good yet reasonable and its not overly crowded? I heard if you eat at rumjungle you can avoid the cover charge but I don't know if the food is good or not.  We are staying at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. We love to dance but don't want to pay a fortune.

Answer
Hi Marsha,

I am not an expert on Vegas clubs but my Friend Darin Feth CEO of www.nitetours.com is and he has siad the following hope this helps.

"This is Vegas, you pay to play…I would suggest NOT Rum Jungle as it gets very young and really seedy as the night goes on…(Seedy: undesirables).  I would suggest eating at House of Blues and see if they let you in as they play all sorts of music  and then they bring on a band…I would also suggest going up to the MIX at The Hotel (attached to Mandalay Bay) the food is expensive, however the club side starts with some cool house music and slowly picks up the beat.  If are in before 9:00PM Cover is free for men and I think cover is free for women all night long.

Another fun place to hit is Diablos, but again you have to go early for dinner and then ask for passes upstairs to the club.  The club is on the Strip and is open air so you can dance over looking the other hotels…Lots of fun…Either than that I would suggest going to Blush at Wynn, the music is cool and if you are in there before 8PM it is a lounge setting and by 9PM it turns into a hip and swank club

Drinks in all of these clubs start at $9 and go up …."
