Question Hello-
My husband is turning 30 the first weekend in August, and I want to bring him to Vegas (for the first time) to celebrate but unsure where to stay, where to eat, and what to do. I would like to keep it affordable, nothing crazy expensive, but also want to have a good time. The group will be around 10-15; old college friends, wives, family (no one under 18), so catering to everyone is tricky.
I was just wondering what hotels are affordable, as well as where to eat.
We want to do comedy, dinner, drinks on Saturday. How do I go about reservations, getting tickets, etc....?
Sorry for all the questions & rambling, but I am really clueless about planning in Vegas, and want to make sure everyone, esp. the 'birthday boy' has a good time!
Thanks in advance for all your help! Look forward to hearing from you! :)
Samantha
Answer Samantha,
Your question lends itself to a LONG response. So I'd like to do this, let you in on some of the basics, and if you need more help, ask again and I'll help out with more specific stuff.
Hotels--I assume you want to stay on the strip... The downtown hotels are a bit cheaper, but the strip is where the action is! If you can stay near the intersection with MGM/New York New York, you'll be in good shape. Try Excalibur and/or Tropicana for good room rates. They are both right there. Further North try Imperial Palace or Flamingo..those are the lowest priced rooms on average!! There are bigger/fancier places but to keep it affordable start there.
Try to get tickets for Danny Gans or The Amazing Jonathon if he's there. Obviously--as you said--it will be hard to cater to everyone, but find out where they are and call that SPECIFIC hotel for tickets in advance!! Both very entertaining.
Circe de Soleil is a bit more on the artistic side for those who like that.
Food-wow..lots of choices. For a more "relaxed" "fun" dinner try the Harley Davidson cafe or Quark's bar...a Star trek theme!!
