Las Vegas - romantic / fun & slightly exotic on a budget ?

Expert: Tom - 8/21/2008

Question
Ok so here goes. After alot of looking I have decided to book my vacation through southwest vacations for the best flight package but cant make up my mind on the hotel. I am taking my wife down for a surprise fri sat sun vacation & want it to be as perfect as possible. What I am looking for is a nice place on the strip decently high up (15 floors or more for the view) with a great night lights view of as much of the strip as possible. My budget puts me into places like the luxor or Balleys although I would love a better place like the Balagio or Mgm I cant get in for the $200 & under budget I have for myself.
SO without further rambling I will list my quick questions. :) And thank you ahead of time for your reply !
Romantic room with a view
Good meals with a budget
If you would pick one adult show what would it be ? I was thinking Bite but im not sure.
Good fun & erotic club that I dont have to be p-diddy to get into :)
And finally - we fly out Sunday eve but check out is at 1100 usually - any idea on what a person can do with there bags ? (we wont have but probably 2 each )
Thank for your time !

Answer
Hey Dave,

Sounds like a great whirlwind trip to get away and have a little adult fun.
Any of the places you mentioned will have what you are looking for. Luxor, Bally's, Monte Carlo, NY-NY, Treasure Island... any of those places will have the experience you are describing. But of that tier of hotels, I'd recommend the Luxor for the thematic rooms and resort. If you can get a room facing the strip, then you will have the lights and everything you are looking for. You just have to ask when you check in for the room you want. Some places charge a small fee for a strip view, but I find that usually if you are cool about it, they will help you out. Just tell them its a special occasion and see what they can do for you.

For an adult show, I would check out the Crazy Horse Paris at MGM Grand. I've never seen Bite, so I can't say one way or another about that, its probably good too. But more often than not I hear people say Crazy Horse Paris was pretty good. You might also check out Midnight Fantasy over at Luxor, that one is supposed to be pretty good as well.

For a nice dinner without breaking the bank, I'd check out Mon Ami Gabi (French Steakhouse) at Paris Las Vegas, or Isla (Tex-Mex) at Treasure Island. Mon Ami is pretty romantic and Isla is very social and energtic, but neither is really expensive.

For a nightclub, I would investigate the new Cathouse at Luxor, or Forty Deuce at Mandalay Bay. For a more intimate experience, you could go upstairs to the Mix martini bar on the 43rd floor of THEhotel at Mandalay.

Lastly, your bags can stay with the bell desk for as long as you need them to stay. They'll give you a claim check, then hold them for you behind the desk as long as you need. They do it all the time, and they're open 24 hours.

Hope that gets you started! Have a great trip and let me know if you need anything else!

Tom
