Question
QUESTION: Sir, My father has under gone for catract surgery before two months.  All was well and he was perfectly able to see everything easily.  but from last three - four days he is facing from the lower vision problem and from yesterday he  is completely unable to see any thing.  I am very much in distress what to do.  We show him to Dr. who operated him but he is saying everything is fine.  please help me.

ANSWER: Dear Aman,

Thank you for your query. You will need to show your father immediately to an eye doctor to make sure that it is not something to do with a retinal problem or an issue which may need immediate intervention.

I can only urge you to see an eye doctor soon as possible this requires urgent attention. You can let me know what the doctor diagnoses for further guidance.

If in Mumbai we would be very happy to assist.

Thank you,
Regards,

dr. was also describe us that due to that swelling their is no visin in the eye and she also call us after three days for rechecking.

should be go for a second opion in this matter or the treatment given by the dr. is sufficient.

kindly guide us.

Answer
Dear Aman,

You can wait for 3 days and revert back to the senior doctor. It does take some time for the blood (haemorrhage) to settle.

What you can do on the next visit, is ask for the exact diagnosis (medical) or a report of the same.

This will enable us to guide you better.

Meanwhile, ask your father not to worry and rest, not move his head vigorously, avoid bumps and jerks.

The tablets may be Wysolone which are steroids, they help inflammation. Make sure that he takes them after meals or he may need antacids if he gets acidity due to them.

Hope this helps,

Regards,
